July 1 to Butte, Montana

Left the campground in Ogden at 7am. It was a long drive, 389 miles. Stopped at a rest stop that said geological site. The site is called "Hell's Half Acre". A fissure opened around 4,100 yrs. ago and spewed lava. What was so great about this stop besides a lava flow was that there were trails that we took and walked about 1/2 miles. There were lots of steps and steep ramp which was great exercise for two people who were siting in a truck for 2 hrs. It was 72 degrees and cloudy. We saw pronghorn, eagles, geese but we could not take a picture because we were going to fast to stop. Finally cool weather. We entered Montana at 1:15pm. and got to the campground about 3:30pm.
