Today we saw 3 grizzly bears a mother and her 2 cubs. Unfortunately they were in the woods and we did not get a clear picture. Mountain Goats were a ways away. They go down to the salt lick every summer. We decided to go on a hike visiting the west glacier park. We went to Avalanche Creek and Trail of the Cedars. Hiked 5.5 miles. The brochure said the trail climbed 500ft. Nether of us thought that would be to bad. Let me just say it was beautiful and the tarn lake and waterfalls were breathtaking, but we both were aching. Gene's calves and back and from my neck to me knees was one big pain. I could hardly walk back with both down hill and up hill a pain, but we both did it. Did not think a 500 ft climb would be so strenuous. The following pictures of 2 of the 3 bucks we saw, one I nearly ran into and chipmunk was a great break to the hike. We have had to run the heater the last 2 nights. It is great.
I wanted to stay one more day but our water heater is not working and we have to find a town were it can be fixed. It's always something.
