Deer Lodge, Mt.
The day started off going to Deer Lodge and then seeing Osprey. After 20 minutes of taking pictures we went on to Deer Lodge where the old Territorial prison is located. You can walk through most of the prison. The cell block had 4 tiers 25 cells on each tier on each side. That's 200 cells for the general population. Then there was the hole where hard core prisoners were held. There were six cells in the hole underground. No window, lights, beds, water or toilets. The old cell block did not have running water or toilets. They had Honey Pots that often got thrown at the guards. Included in the jail tour was a auto museum with the first cars up to the 1975 were displayed. We then visited a western museum, with saloon and all kinds of bottles, signs and artifacts.
