Sunday morning was drizzly. Said our goodbyes to Jim & Dixie last night with a little wine and we are heading for Anchorage. Hate goodbyes. It was a great 2 months with them.

Drove to Williwaw cg in the Chugach Mtns. Bears & Moose had been spotted the day before in the campground. We saw bear & moose droppings all over but that was all we saw. Hiked about 2 miles. Love this cg. You feel you are all alone in the woods. At night all you can hear is the waterfalls close by. We were here last year with Jeff & Lisa. Found out sun rise is at 4:36am and sets at 11:24pm. It never gets really pitch dark. Stayed 2 nights and hiked all over. We went to the visitor center at Portage Glacier and took a cruise out to the Portage glacier. There was an iceberg along the way. You can see by the picture how big it was. The glacier formed Portage Lake that is 650 ft deep. It is all so amazing…the power of nature.
