Quebec

July 6
We crossed over into Canada around 9am and skirted the city of Montreal
taking Rt. 15 to 117. Quebec…is another world. Everything is in French, all street signs, ads, etc. English is spoken but very broken every place we have gone. We stopped at a restaurant that had a chicken on the sign thought it was like a KFC, but it was a very nice restaurant, St. Hubert. We had split a chicken sandwich with brie cheese, also had cole slaw, that had no mayo, it was great, a small cup of soup that was spicy with curry in it, and French fries. We are taking the scenic route over the mountains with many lakes along the way. Gene did not want to drive through the big cities and all the tourist places along the Great Lakes. It is HOT. People we spoke to said it is very unusual to be so warm. When we stopped at 6pm it was 88 degrees but we are on a lake that has a nice breeze off it. We turned on the generator and air conditioning. It is 91 in the rv. Once we were set up we went for a walk. Coming back to the rv we noticed a bear trap across the way from us. The campground is Re’serve faunique at Lac Rapide.
As we walked around the campground we noticed the most beautiful grey and black husky dog with blue eyes. Gene said sit and it did much to our surprise…I had to take a picture.
We will go across Canadian Providences and are meeting our friends Dixie and Jim in Hyder, Alaska around July 27.

We will not have any phone service until we get into Alaska and since we can’t get wifi where we are I am going to post messages.

No phone calls. The phone service is on roaming and cost is high.
Please hold off in sending cute emails. I am having a problem sending and receiving.
Hopefully we will get into a big town where we can get this straightened out.
