Santa Rosa, 9/1

This morning we drove to the dock to get the ferry to San Francisco. We missed the 1 o'clock ferry and had two hours before the next one so we decided to drive around San Rafael. We took at turn to the right and it said "no outlet". Much to our surprise as we went to turn around we noticed a sign...San Quentin Prison. What a surprise.
The ferry took us right in front of that prison and past Alcatraz Island. We could also see the Golden Gate Bridge.
Once in San Francisco we decided to walk to the Fisherman's Wharf which was a mile a way. It was an easy walk and the weather was very pleasant. By the time we got to our destination we were hungry and stopped for lunch/dinner since it was 4:30. The seafood market was a great place and the food wonderful. The salmon I had was the best I have had in a while. Gene had a combination plate with sword fish, shrimp and salmon. I had never tasted sword fish and it was great. We walked around in and out of the shops and bought Marista, our granddaughter a neat pair of socks. By now it was time to go to the ferry and instead of taking the trolley we walked...Our exercise day was over. As we walked there were so many people running or riding bikes and I felt very old.
