Pahrump, NV
Going through the Mojave Desert to Parhump. One Hundred years ago Paiute Indian's harvested pine nuts and seeds, and hunted wild game from Spring Mountain. The name Pah (means water) and Rump ( is rock) in the Paiute language. It is truly an Oasis in the desert. In 1954, an asphalt road was completed over the mountains to Las Vegas and then electricity arrived in 1963 with telephone service 2 years later. It is now a town of about 48,000. More in the winter when the snow bunnies come down from the north.
I went to the emergency room in town. The last place put me in a sling and this doctor said not to use it. My shoulder could freeze up if I don't move it. They could not give me a shot of cortisone and have me on ibuprofen. I just need relief.
Tomorrow we will go to Death Valley National Monument then on to Las Vegas on Sunday. Then heading home with a stop to see the newest member of the family in El Paso.
