To Tok

To Tok, August 2, 3, 4

Left Teslin in the am and drove to Wolf Creek Provincial Park in Whitehorse. It is a wonderful park in the woods. There is plenty of room for big rigs, a lot of hiking and just a few miles from Whitehorse. The only down side is that there is a fire ban, wood is free, but no fire. Jim made ribs for dinner on their portable grille that where fantastic.
On the third we stopped in Congdon PV Park. It is on a beautiful blue lake so the scenery is spectacular. All RV parks in the Yukon are only $12.
Tomorrow we are heading for Tok, Alaska and heard that from Destruction Bay, Yukon where the road is gravel for about 80 miles.
This morning we got a knock on the door from Jim. There were two grizzly bears walking between our rvs. Dixie got a great picture but we never saw the bear. Boy did Jim rub it in.
The trip to Tok was exhausting. The road has many bumps and dips and speed limit at the top of the range was 40mph. It took us almost 8 hours. We saw a female moose and youngin but could not get a clear picture. The swans were in a pond far from the road but I got a pretty good picture of the eagle.
