July 30, Boya Lake
Yes, we are still at Boya Lake. The road was not open this morning. They are saying maybe this afternoon. The truckers are getting anxious going north and south because they have perishables on board. Gene & Jim drove up the road and it is jammed on the side of the road. There is know sense in driving this afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow morning the road will be opened.
I am making a stew and Dixie is making cornbread to go with it. We are just chilling out and talking to people that are in the same boat as us.

We got up at 5:30 to get in line for our route north. They finally were able to convoy everyone up from the campsites to Route 1 past the fires. Two days ago they stopped people from going north on 37. I am sure you can see from the pictures all the smoke. There was 1 convoy north and 1 south and that is all till they put out the fires. Route 37 will be closed till further notice. With 12 or so 24 wheelers, rv, motorcycles, cars, etc. I estimate over 100 vehicles to go about 40 miles. Our rv smells like smoke. We had a great time hiking, playing cards and dominoes and just lazing around at this beautiful lake. The water was so clear and COLD it was amazing, but it was nothing to the kids in the water.
